Position Overview



Advanced Utility Systems is looking for an Application Consultant to take part in our project implementations. A dynamic, well-spoken individual, dedicated to continuous improvement and thrives in a fast-paced, demanding environment. For this full time job, you will work closely with both clients and our internal Conversion, Training, Reporting, and Development team members to successfully deploy our net new installations.


As an Application Consultant you will be taking a technical leadership role within the project team and will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects at once while also implementing projects of your own. As a senior member of our technical team you will be expected to share your specialized knowledge (either process, industry, or technical) with our other team members.

Primary Functions

  • Participate or lead the discovery sessions with our clients to determine the “As-Is” and “To-Be” states of their systems. With this information perform an analysis of options, alternatives, and system capabilities to best configure our system to meet the client’s needs.
  • Develop and maintain key end-to-end knowledge documents throughout the project.
  • Work in conjunction with / mentor our junior team members with configuration, conversion, and process work.
  • Act as the technical project owner to ensure a strict adherence to our methodology and ensure that we hit our key milestones.
  • Act as an escalation point for any technical issues that may arise with the project.
  • Assist clients with end-to-end system testing and troubleshooting.
  • Work on special projects to help increase efficiencies across our technical implementations


  • 3 years or more working experience in a Technical Analyst or Consultant role
  • Bachelor’s or College degree in Computer Science preferred
  • Experience with advanced database concepts (MS SQL)
  • Passion for the customer and for work excellence with a focus on producing strong results
  • Highly developed organizational skills and time management ability
  • Strong analytical troubleshooting skills a must. Ability to solve complex problems
  • Ability to learn quickly in a high paced, challenging environment
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team on projects
  • Willingness to learn, teach and share information with peers, management and users
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
