Harris Local Government, a division of Harris, is seeking a Director of Growth to join our executive team. We are seeking a talented and driven individual who thrives at the intersection of data, product, development, and marketing. The Director of Growth will work cross-functionally with development, support, PS, sales and marketing to design and execute growth projects. The Director’s role has three core components: first, to help define our HLG growth plan, second, to coordinate and execute growth programs, and third, to optimize the revenue funnel. This is accomplished through the collection and analysis of data which is then used to prioritize growth or product experiments.

Primary Functions

  • Develop and implement systems for data collection, experimentation, measuring, reporting, and optimizing key growth metrics.
  • Implement repeatable processes to work through initiative evaluation and execution to the logical exit point.
  • Lead HLG through the growth and initiative process 
    • Identification:
      • Support leadership team in process to identify candidate initiatives
      • Develop and sustain process and KPI’s for analysis and scoring of candidate initiatives
    • Planning:
      • Development of financial models (cost, revenue, ROI)
      • Understanding market size, pricing, and competition. 
      • Obtain initial early investors & adopters (i.e. sell the idea and get customer development funding)
      • Determine MVC and MVP approach and content
      • Identify pivot/exit points
    • Development:
      • Identification of initiative teams
      • Oversee development, partners, and third parties to manage schedule, budget, and scope.
      • Work with the initial investors continuously to validate or evolve the initiative, you will be the expert
      • Update the initiative model based on findings during initial phases.
    • Roll-out:
      • Lead the transition to Sales, Support, PS and R&D for normal product processes

Qualifications

  • An undergraduate business or technical degree, an MBA or professional post-graduate degree can be considered an asset
  • Familiarity with data analysis and the best tools for retrieving, manipulating, and visualizing data (Excel, SQL, Tableau, etc.)
  • Past P&L responsibility
  • Being extraordinarily data-driven: possessing clear understanding of data, analytics, metrics and statistics. Be biased towards action. You will know the data, and be in the details.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Being performance and results-oriented
  • Being relentless in pursuit of growth
  • Business development focus and experience (relative to new products, services and go to market approaches)
  • Experience in the public sector will be considered an asset
  • Be a goal-oriented, self starter & driven individual with an excellent ability to execute and sustain a high sense of urgency. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport across the company and our customers.
  • Significant travel is required (40%)
