Position Overview



A Quality Assurance Analyst fulfills an important role, working in the R&D Department, to ensure that new software development and issue resolutions are working properly and documented for release to our customers.


High-level responsibilities include analyzing requirements, developing test plans, executing tests, documenting results, tracking issues and verifying that all information about each modification is documented correctly. The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for creating an end-to-end test plan, executing the plan and managing all activities in the plan to ensure that all the objectives are met and that the solution works as expected. 

Primary Functions

  • Performs non-complex standard testing and de-bugging tasks according to company's QA process
  • Develop clear and concise test cases including detailed expected results based on business requirements and technical specifications
  • Manage defects discovered during testing activities, validate fixes, and track defects to closure
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of test processes and methodologies
  • Develop effective and maintainable automated tests to cover the code base
  • Review product documentation for completeness and correctness and update / create new documentation as necessary
  • Communicate and coordinate testing activities with the Support and Development teams
  • Participate in team projects that support corporate and/or departmental goals



  • Experience in quality assurance of software applications
  • Strong proficiency in Word, Excel and SQL writing skills
  • Strong analytical and detail oriented person with strong problem solving abilities
  • Basic understanding of the development process, including design, programming, and documentation
  • Basic technical skills including general knowledge of how operating systems and browsers that are relevant to QA activities
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, test case management software and automated testing tools
  • Great communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team


Preferred, but not required

  • Experience with JIRA will be an asset
  • Experience in writing product documentation
  • Knowledge of CIS, operations, billing or financial systems
  • Agile practices experience will be an asset
