As a Technical Recruiter at Harris, you will have the responsibility of matching talent with the opportunity, as well as, guiding and consulting with hiring managers on their talent needs.  In this role, you will support our Harris Utilities Group, a group which is growing rapidly and competing for the best talent to develop and support the spectrum of software solutions that utilities need to manage their resources responsibly, enhance operational efficiencies and improve customer service.

Primary Functions

What will be your impact?

  • Partnering with business leaders and hiring managers to assess their talent requirements and advising on the best hiring strategy
  • Coach hiring managers on creating key outcomes, competencies and interview guides to ensure consistency and quality of hire.
  • Function as internal consultant on recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning and retention.
  • Utilize a variety of cost efficient sourcing techniques to recruit high quality candidates
  • Sourcing passive candidates through multiple approaches as required by the specifics of the role
  • Posting jobs through internal and external portals and maintain current knowledge of emerging technology to stay ahead of innovative sourcing trends and best recruitment practices
  • Identify talent with opportunity by assessing employee referrals, screening resumes, conducting phone screens and interviews, attending job fairs, and on-campus activities
  • Maintains updated candidate status / disposition in applicant tracking system to ensure compliance with company policies 


What are we looking for?

  • 5 + years’ experience in house with a focus in high volume hiring/staffing initiatives
  • Demonstrated track record of excellence in sourcing and assessing talent (expert user of key sourcing tools)
  • Proven track record in hiring at high volume (carrying at least 40 requisitions at any one time)
  • Proven relationship management experience with hiring teams and business stakeholders, helping them navigate the sources of talent and assisting them with assessment
  • Proficiency utilizing and optimizing applicant tracking systems, excel and HRIS
  • Must be Flexible with the work schedule/hours based on sourcing needs
  • Bilingual: English/French
  • Ability to travel within Canada 25% of the time

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience/proficiency with WorkDay (HRIS), iCIMS (ATS)
  • Technical Recruiting, professional services environment preferred.
