Our Professional Services team has an exciting opportunity for a driven individual; we're looking for an experienced Project Manager that will be passionate about providing IT implementation services to our clients. The Cayenta Project Manager is a leader that is empowered to manage his/her project(s) while keeping the client’s and our senior management informed.  

 

The Cayenta Project Manager role is customer service oriented, and serves as the first point of contact with the client to ensure that the agreed to project goals are being met. Of course, the Project Manager is focused on monitoring and controlling the scope of work, managing project deadlines, risks and project finances.

Primary Functions

Project Planning & Management

 

  • Project initiation: establishing the project PMO, tool setup and coordinating software installation.
  • Project control: ensuring that project schedules, project budgets, and scope all meet contractual expectations.
  • Project management provided through, risk analysis, meeting requirements, and coordinating resources (including 3rd party vendors).
  • Adherence to the schedule of work for all phases (and elaborate as the project progresses) of the project including start-up and post implementation follow-up.
  • Be knowledgeable on project deliverables and contractual documentation to ensure obligations are met.
  • Prioritize and drive project needs based on outstanding tasks, risks, budgets, resources and deadlines.
  • Coordinate resolution of project issues and/or delays to reduce the impact on the project and ensure a timely implementation.
  • Communicate project progress and needs across the project team and upwards to supporting departments and management.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Cayenta implementation processes.

 

Customer Service & Leadership

 

  • Responsible for all aspects of project delivery while providing client satisfaction and a successful Go-live on the new system(s).
  • Fulfill the role of implementation leader by being knowledgeable on the Cayenta implementation methodology, our systems and client business processes.
  • Provide leadership for Cayenta resources directly and indirectly assigned to the project within a matrixed organizational structure.

Key Relationships:

 

Reports to: Director, Project Management Services

 

Works Closely with: Clients, 3rd Parties, PS Consulting, R&D, BI, Technical Services, Support and Finance.

Qualifications

Desired Competencies and Experience 

 

  • Self-starter, someone that takes initiative to make things happen and to grow professionally.
  • Proven problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills; must be comfortable making decisions with limited management guidance.
  • Detail oriented and a people-person combined.
  • Strong influencing, coaching and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
  • Comfortable working across all levels of an organization including the executive level.
  • Ability to successfully manage and complete multiple tasks within tight deadlines; remains calm under pressure.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful, large-scale IT projects.
  • Utility industry experience hugely beneficial to success in this role.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications, or Information Systems from an accredited university required.
  • Minimum 4 - 5 years of IT Project Management experience.
  • PMP preferred.
  • Must be able to travel (M-F) minimum 50% - 75% of the time within North America without restriction.
