    Harris is seeking an ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE (AR) CLERK to work closely with fellow AR staff, the Manager of Working Capital, and the Divisional Controller in providing accounts receivable support for the division.

     

    The Accounts Receivable (AR) Clerk must be resourceful, inquisitive, self-motivated, possess strong interpersonal skills and be capable of handling high work volumes with accuracy during peak periods.

    Primary Functions

    Impacting and monitoring cash collections from customers as follows:

    • Invoicing, credits, debits, etc. (customer account maintenance)
    • Following up on accounts over-due via phone and email – within prescribed timelines
    • Maintaining notes on collection status
    • Proactively communicating to Business Units on problem accounts
    • Scheduling weekly AR calls with team and Business Units
    • Providing timely responses to customer and employee requests for information
    • Daily deposits of cash receipts

    Financial Reporting

    • Responsible for accurate posting and application of payments to customer accounts. (Balancing the receivables batch to the GL and properly posting to the correct date).
    • Prepare information required for the month-end, quarter-end and financial audit and interact with the audit team members in a professional manner
    • Prepare weekly AR reports

    Organization & Time Management

    • Responsible for ensuring customer documentation is filed and organized accurately and in a timely fashion
    • Able to identify areas of concern and brings it to the attention of their manager
    • Communicates to manager/controller if deadlines will need to shift
    • Manages priorities effectively and efficiently between the business unit(s), Finance, and customers

    Qualifications

    Preference will be given to candidates with any of the following:

    • 2+ years of relevant work experience an asset
    • Post-secondary education with relevant degree/diploma
    • Experience with Great Plains an asset
    • Proficiency in Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, Outlook
    • Attention to detail and accuracy
